Do Animals Go To Heaven?

animals have souls

As a kid, I had hoped that God loved animals as much as He does man, but church taught me differently. I was told in Catholic school that only humans had souls. I was devastated. From what I saw, animals deserved souls more than we did. I was grateful when the universe proved that theory wrong–time and time again. Often during a reading, someone’s deceased pets come in, sometimes stronger than deceased loved ones do. Often on the other side, I have seen pets and newly deceased individuals reunited as well.

The most remarkable experience I have had in this regard happened several years ago in a reading. A woman came to see me that had just recently lost her dog. She never brought it up in the reading, I never sensed a thing, and so she left slightly disappointed that her pooch never came through in the session. She went home and played the tape recording of the reading to her daughter, only to find that no voices were recorded….the only thing audible on the tape was a very loud, clear barking dog.

That particular reading was done at a spa in the city—no dog for miles. It was definitely her dog barking on the tape. She (and I) were astounded! I have never questioned it since.

Every animal has a certain gift, lesson or medicine to offer. There is a reason why certain animals come into and leave our lives when they do, and by studying animal totems, one can gain greater insight into the wisdom these beloveds offer us. I highly suggest the book Animal Speak by Ted Andrews. I use it as a constant reference every time I have a notable animal encounter.

I was lucky enough to read for a little girl who had to put down her horse due to a broken leg. Oddly enough, her mother explained that her daughter woke up unusually blue and ornery before even getting the news. It was like on some level, she knew something was wrong. She was feeling the loss before she even knew it happened—further confirmation that they do speak from the other side. Needless to say, she was devastated.

By explaining horse medicine to her (assistance in moving forward) I was able to explain how this animal came to her to help her make positive steps forward in great directions and that her horse, now a spirit guide, would always be there to assist her in choosing the best path for her future, and that the horse was happy to be called on whenever she felt she needed help in that department. It instantly changed the quality of her grief, to know that the horse wasn’t gone—just different. She was instantly uplifted. For those with children suffering the loss of a pet, or those who are having issues moving forward from their own loss, I highly suggest researching animal totems—it will bring you much comfort and added wisdom to your day to day experience.
